I would like to see it upgraded to modern educational standards. My four children attended the school during the 70's and 80's, and one of my granddaughters graduated from there two years ago. Presently, I have one granddaughter who is a student there. I was also a substitute teacher there as well as an active PTA parent who was one of a few women who were responsible for the playgroound behind the school. The consensus of my family and myself is that the school has a wholesome feeling and should stay. When the Lenape school was built, the school came with lots of physical problems which had to be addressed. A new building is not a promise that it comes without problems. Therefore, I am for keeping the middle school at the present location and upgrading it. I would like to express my feeling about the future of the New Paltz Middle School.
