NPCSD Archive: Renovate or Build New?

After over more than four hours of presentation, discussion, and community input, the Board of Education voted unanimously in favor of taking steps to develop a facilities plan that addresses the Middle School facility needs through renovation, not by construction on a new site.

The Board’s decision to dedicate the resources, both human and financial, to exploring the Middle School renovation gives the District a direction to take, which was the goal. Now, the District can begin gathering detailed information and realistic costs, as well as to start to seek answers to the many questions everyone has.

After two months of an aggressive community outreach initiative to gather feedback from the community about the “Future of the Middle School,” the Board of Education is scheduled to make a decision of how best to move forward at a special meeting on January 30 at 7 PM at the High School. Community is encouraged to attend this important meeting.
